# letterport > letterport gives an AI agent its own real email address. Mail sent to it arrives as clean JSON (sender, thread, only the new text of a reply, attachments); the agent answers from the same address in the same thread, and every email it sends has a delivery trail for each recipient. It works over a REST API, signed webhooks and a hosted MCP server. Agents may email anyone their work calls for, within their plan's limits and the acceptable use policy: conversations, not campaigns (no bulk mail, newsletters or cold lists). Threads are joined by Message-ID, In-Reply-To and References headers, never by subject. "Delivered" means the receiving server said so. letterport is in early access, operated by 10xproductivity. ## Docs - [Documentation](https://letterport.dev/docs.html): how inboxes, messages, threads, delivery trails, webhooks, API keys and limits work - [How to give an AI agent its own email address](https://letterport.dev/guides/email-for-ai-agents.html): the REST API step by step, in curl and Node.js - [Give Claude Code an email inbox with MCP](https://letterport.dev/guides/claude-code-email.html): one command, a browser sign-in, the tools it gets - [Agent Skill](https://letterport.dev/skill/SKILL.md): how a coding agent uses letterport end to end: inboxes, reading, replying, attachments, webhooks, MCP tools and the mail rules - [API reference](https://api.letterport.dev/docs): every REST endpoint, with examples - [OpenAPI description](https://api.letterport.dev/openapi.json): the API, machine-readable - [Hosted MCP server](https://api.letterport.dev/mcp): connect with `claude mcp add --transport http letterport https://api.letterport.dev/mcp` (browser sign-in, or an API key) ## Product - [Home](https://letterport.dev/): what it does, how it works, what is live, pricing and answers to common questions - [Console](https://app.letterport.dev/): create inboxes, read conversations, manage API keys, webhooks, domains, usage and billing ## Pricing - [Pricing](https://letterport.dev/pricing.html): plans, hard caps and billing - Free: $0, 3 inboxes on letterport.dev, 50 recipients a day and 1,000 a month, 3,000 received a month, 1 GB kept - Developer: $19 a month, 25 inboxes, 1,000 recipients a day and 15,000 a month, 5 of your own domains - Growth: $99 a month, 200 inboxes, 5,000 recipients a day and 100,000 a month, 50 of your own domains - Limits are hard caps: nothing is billed for going over ## Comparisons - [letterport vs AgentMail](https://letterport.dev/compare/agentmail.html): plans, limits and features side by side (23 October 2026) ## Policies - [Acceptable use](https://letterport.dev/acceptable-use.html) - [Privacy](https://letterport.dev/privacy.html) - [Terms](https://letterport.dev/terms.html)
